We went on a MOMS Club field trip to Yellowstone Cheese. They are really small and make cheese from the cows on their farm. They only have about 60 cows. We got a tour of the dairy farm and they told us how they make cheese. Then we got to sample different cheeses.
The calfs on the farm. The feeding is totally automated. The machine reads their tag, mixes their formula, and dispenses the correct amount. Everything is recorded in the computer: # approaches, how much they eat, how often, how fast. It's like what I used to use when studying feeding behavior at work. The kids loved the cows. Especially Alec. This is Jack and his new BFF Evan.

The cows were also getting their hooves done. There is a cow in that contraption. They are filing it's hooves down.
