PAINTING!!
Jack wearing a burka.
We popped over to the Twin Cities overnight. We went to the Science Museum (free with our Children's Museum Passes). Most of the exhibits were too advanced for the kids. It was also overrun with YMCA camp kids who were poorly supervised. They did have a lot of dinosaur bones that the kids liked. Then we went to the Mall of America to do a little clothes shopping (no sales tax on clothes in MN).
The next morning we went to "The Works" (also free with our passes). https://www.theworks.org They had a lot of building things. The kids loved it. We then went to IKEA to buy Alec's big boy bed, a new bed for us, and stuff to decorate the kids' room. Amazingly we fit it all into the back of our pick-up truck.
We removed the the wall paper in the guest room and painted it. We moved Jack's bed in and set up Alec's bed. Alec still sleeps the night in his crib but naps in his big boy bed. The kids love it.
We found time to meet up with our friends Heidi, Breck, Talen and Alec at the Minnesota Children's Museum. This time we spent the *entire* day there. Open to close. Daddy was working late so we also ate dinner at a great pizza place and then drove home. I thought the kids would crash on the drive home. I gave them M&Ms and their phones so that they wouldn't. We got home right before bedtime and then they crashed hard. So fun! Unfortunately, Talen has school on the days that Jack doesn't so it will be hard to meet in the school year.
