On Friday, John won Auto Show tickets by twittering to a local news station. John had a 1/2 day so we went down there after Jack woke up. Jack enjoyed looking at all the "trucks" (that's what he calls every vehicle). He likes fire trucks but was pretty intimidated by their size once he was up close.
He also got to see some race cars. Then we had dinner downtown, something we haven't done in quite a long time.
The next day, Rebecca and Jack went to Gymboree in the morning and then the zoo in the afternoon. Jack really likes animals and liked watching them. There are pandas in two of his books that he likes. He got to see them this time because the line was not ridiculously long. The animals were getting active because it had cooled down (it's been hot here in the day). The rhinos were actually running around their enclosure!
Then Sunday, we went down to Cabrillo Monument. When we got there a dense fog rolled in on the ocean side.
There are tide pools and a lighthouse with great views of San Diego. It wasn't as high as the light house so when we went down to the tide pools it was cold and dark. The ocean was a bit rough so we stayed up above them.
Then we went up to the lighthouse and watched all the boats in the bay and the airplanes fly overhead. Jack pointed out each plane. He also got to press lots of buttons inside the light house, which was very exciting.
Monday, we aren't doing anything. We are just waiting for the Rose Bowl to be on.
Here's an old picture. April is at the Rose Bowl.
