John had to go to Madison for the day so we made it a long weekend vacation.
First we went to the zoo (again) to let the kids run around after the drive down.
Jack was *so excited* to ride the carousel. Alec was really mad he couldn't go too.
Then we went down to the Terrace for some beer and ice cream.
Perfect evening
Jack thought the big chair was so funny.
Then we went to the geology dept museum. It was small but free. The kids liked it.
Alec kept touching the petrified wood saying "oooooo"
Lots of dinosaur bones.
Jack and a baby "long-neck" (from land before time, a favorite movie). Jack looks weird in all of the pictures because he's saying "cheese" and always contorts his face. I can't get him to stop.
Then we went to the children's museum (again) since it's free with our own children't museum membership. It was *packed*. I definitely needed a drink after that visit. The kids had a great time. Most of the pictures are blurry because they were running around like crazy.

Jack loved holding the rats. Future rat-wrangler like mommy?
Roof-top terrace had a great view of the Capital.
A huge 2 story climbing structure with tube slide for 4+. Jack was too afraid last time. This time I couldn't get him off.
Alec driving while Jack is climbing
Jack and some friends he made.
We went for a hike down to Picnic Point. Little, tiny frogs were everywhere. You had to watch your step. Jack kept catching them.

Back to the Terrace on a Friday evening. There was a Jazz band playing. Jack was drinking water and Alec kept going for my beer. It was so hot. We were fortunate that some people came over to tell us they were leaving their table in the shade.
Alec eating corn on the cob.
Buying paraphinalia.
